FILMMAKER BRIAN O’NEILL HAS ANOTHER film he’s looking forward to shooting.
“The Forest” stars Daniel Kaluuya as a former forest ranger who returns home to his wife and daughter to find a forest home that’s completely devoid of wildlife.
“We have so much more,” Kaluuia said.
“It’s going to be a real different experience for them.
It’s going be very interesting to see what they’ll do and how they react to it.”
He added that he’s excited to be filming the film at a time when it’s also on a film festival circuit.
“I’m really excited to see how they adapt to it and what they do with it,” Kaluia said, referring to the forest that is the backdrop for the film.
The Forest is the latest film in the “Forest” series, which chronicles the lives of forest workers.
The series has earned rave reviews and has already been adapted into a feature film and a musical.
“What I love about the film is that it’s the first time I’ve seen this style of film that really has a place in cinema,” Kaluchea said.
The film, which is set to be released in the fall, is described by The Guardian as “an adaptation of a novel, with elements of a classic tale and an old-fashioned romance.”
